Sailaway specialise in snorkel tours. They provide their guests with all snorkelling equipment needed for the day, including mask, snorkel, fins, lycra sunsuits and wetsuits. Buoyancy devices are also available, to make your time in the water as comfortable as possible. The Sailaway Port Douglas Low Isles day tour includes a guided snorkel tour with a Marine Biologist. You can expect to see a range of hard and soft corals, giant clams and array of Great Barrier Reef fish, including parrotfish, wrasse, chromis, angelfish, butterflyfish, fusiliers and more. In addition to the guided snorkel tour, you are welcome to snorkel as much as you like from the beach at Low Isles and off the back of the boat, which is moored at a site amongst the reefs that surround Low Isles.
Please note that the reefs surrounding Low Isles were heavily impacted by Tropical Cyclone Jasper and subsequent flooding, in December 2023, which has caused freshwater bleaching to occur on the corals. This is evident when snorkelling, but there is still an abundance of fish and turtles.
Join the skipper for a glass bottom boat tour over the fringing reefs that surround Low Isles. This is a relaxing way to see the reef and learn more about it, from the comfort of the glass bottom boat. The skipper will point out key items of interest during the tour, with the opportunity to ask questions.
Sailaway is moored at the Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina, in Port Douglas. If you are staying locally, then coach transfers are provided and included from Port Douglas accommodation, or you can self drive to the marina with lots of parking available. Prior to boarding the boat, you will need to check-in at the Sailaway office, which is located inside the marina. Check-in commences at 8am, boarding from 8.15am for a 8.30am departure. You will arrive back into Port Douglas at 4pm. All snorkelling equipment, snacks and lunch is provided and included in the tour price. You should take a towel, sunglasses, hat, change of clothes and sunblock for the day, as well as cash or credit cards to make any beverage purchases. Tea, coffee and cold water is supplied and included.

Sailaway departs and commences its journey to Low Isles, a part of the Great Barrier Reef. All safety and snorkel equipment briefings are conducted on the boat, on the way to the reef.
Arrive at Low Isles. Snorkelling equipment will be provided to all guests, as well as a snorkel safety briefing.
Sailaway provides a glass bottom boat transfer from the boat to Low Isles. Once you are on Low Isles, there’s nearly 3 hours to swim, snorkel, explore and relax. Snorkelling is straight off the beach, as is the Marine Biologist guided snorkel tour. There’s a heritage walk on the island, or you can choose to just sit back and relax under the palm trees and soak up the views.
Transfer back to Sailaway, where a delicious cold buffet lunch awaits. It includes chilled prawns, cold meats and chicken, a selection of salads and breads.
There is more time to snorkel off the back of the boat, take a glass bottom boat tour with the Skipper or just relax and enjoy the sunshine.
The crew serves afternoon tea and coffee, with cakes and start to prepare the boat for departure.
