Their high clearance, air conditioned coaches take a maximum of 20 guests, ensuring personalised small group touring and experience. Their Daintree day tour takes you from Cairns and Port Douglas into the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation Beach. This tour is suitable for people of all ages with Adult, Child and Family prices. Please note infants and children aged 3 years old and under are free if they sit on a parents lap. Baby and Booster Seats are available, but must be advised at the time of booking. The Cairns pick-ups start from 7am and you return to Cairns from 6.30pm onwards. You are guaranteed to see lots of plants, with the opportunity to see insects, birds and maybe even some keystone rainforest species, such as the Southern Cassowary.
This vibrant, living landscape is home to an abundance of wildlife. On the Daintree River Cruise, you’ll look for saltwater crocodiles and might see an array of birdlife, that thrive on this ancient waterway. Cassowary encounters are not guaranteed but are possible, from sightings aboard the bus to seeing them on the boardwalk tour. Other notable creatures you might see include the Boyd’s Forest Dragon, a tiny lizard that clings to tree trunks and the Peppermint Stick Insect, that favours the pandanus growing near Cape Tribulation Beach. Arrive at the destination for your Daintree River Wildlife Cruise. Prior to departure, enjoy tea, coffee and biscuits. On the boat you will cruise the Daintree River looking for local wildlife, including saltwater crocodiles, turtles and birds. There’s lots of time for photos and the guide will provide information on the river and its surroundings.
Back aboard the coach to continue your exploration of the Daintree Rainforest. Driving along narrow roads, keep your eyes peeled for Cassowaries. This tour includes a guided boardwalk tour, getting you right amongst the rainforest. The passionate guides will provide interpretive commentary, with the opportunity to ask questions and take photos.
Lunch at the Daintree Heritage Lodge. You can choose between fish, steak, wraps or pasta, accompanied by a range of salads. This Daintree day tour does operate in the rain. You can not have a rainforest without rain. However, the tour and its inclusions can vary pending the intensity and frequency of rain. This usually happens in February or March and you will be contacted if you are affected.
It depends. You will need to be able to get on and off the bus, via the stairs. The tour does involve walking down to and along a sandy beach and on boardwalks.
You should bring a small day pack including a towel, sun sunscreen and insect repellent. Change of clothes, hat and additional funds for any additional snack and beverage purchased you might like to make.
