Our family loves adventure! If you are following our blogs, you’d know that weekends and holidays are spent out of the house, off the screen and getting into nature to make some amazing memories in this beautiful part of the world we call home. When we aren’t under the water, in the rainforest or high in the hills that surround Cairns, we’re roaming far and wide to explore new places, some of which are remote and not all of which have accommodation. While we love adventure, we also love beds, having our own bathroom and some climate control. We’ve done the tent, tried the camper trailer and have now upgraded to a hybrid caravan, to make our journey just that little bit more comfortable. It sleeps 4 and you can hire it to go and make your own memories in comfort and style. See our listing on Camplify.
The I Love Cairns family have splashed out on a hybrid caravan which sleeps 4 and is a tiny home you can take with you. Rent it through Camplify.
Our Cairns family caravan for hire ticks a lot of boxes. It has a luxury king sized bed, we’re talking actual mattress, which is amazing, and a bunk for the kids. Indoor bathroom with toilet and shower, tick. Internal and external kitchens with multi-burner stovetops, sinks and pantry storage, tick. Slide out fridge freezer, tick. Double-glazed windows with insect screens and privacy screens, plus a lockable security screen door, tick. Fans at all beds and air conditioning! Life just got better because climate control means we can explore, all year round. An amazing internal floor plan which makes clever use of all the space and best of all, this is so easy to set up. Pop the roof, slide out the bedroom and you’re done – 10 minutes – so good!
“Not going to lie, I was never much of a camper. I didn’t grow up doing it – Richard did – and as much as I love getting out and exploring, setting up a tent or camper trailer was not the perfect way to end my day. I prefer a good cheese platter and crisp glass of wine. The hybrid caravan is a game changer, because now we can do it all, and so can you with easy rental terms. We’ve named our tiny home on wheels Tropical Trailblazers and we’d love to see other families out there making memories in it too.” – Julie Johnston
This baby is ready to roll with pretty much everything you need already sorted. There’s pillows, sheets, blankets and bath towels. We’ve stacked and packed breakfast bowls, plates and cups, cutlery, salad bowl, cutting board, cheese board and wine glasses (but of course, bonus the wine glasses are durable, so you don’t have to worry about breakages). The essentials are in there, we’re talking instant coffee, hot chocolate, salt, pepper, oil, paper towels, tissues and sandwich bags. You can cook on the gas burner stove top, fire up the Weber Baby Q or light a fire and enjoy cooking on coals, doesn’t get much better than that in the great outdoors. Speaking of the great outdoors, our Tropical Trailblazers Cairns family caravan for hire has an electric awning for shade, outdoor mat, camping chairs and table.
So that’s the details, now for the important stuff. As Tropical Trailblazers you can take this baby to powered and unpowered sites (note – you do need power if you want to run the air conditioner), as it has an off-grid capable battery system with solar power. Pets are allowed. Fun fact, the real driver for us starting to camp over cabin, was when we welcomed our border collie Stormy to the family. We don’t like leaving him at home, so you can take your fur baby with you too. If you can’t or don’t want to tow – and we can talk specs, when you want to rent – then we can deliver it to any site within a 200km radius of Cairns. As you can imagine terms and conditions apply and there’s a minimum 3 night hire, check the listing on Camplify for more information.
Most importantly, the fun stuff! Celebrating the starry night sky, the campfire and marshmallows and kicking back by the lake, next to a stream or beachside, before tumbling into a comfortable bed with the mod cons. That’s what we love and if it sounds good to you too – then the Tropical Trailblazer home away from home is waiting for your next adventure.
Tropical Trailblazers are go and this one is ready to roll, giving you and your family the perfect place to kick back and enjoy the great outdoors without compromising on comfort. We’ve already been on a few adventures, caving at Chillagoe and clambering up the coloured sands at Elim Beach, both of which we highly recommend. There’s lots of places you might like to go, like a long weekend at Lake Tinaroo, head to the hills at Herberton and Ravenshoe, hang out at Granite Gorge or soak in the thermal pools at Talaroo or Innot Hot Springs. Undara Experience is a great road trip and one of our absolute favourites is Cobbold Gorge.
We bought this because sometimes we want to stay just that little bit longer, extending our adventures to include campfires, marshmallows, and star gazing. Sometimes those ‘must see’ places, are just too far to go for the day, but don’t have any place for you to stay. That problem is now solved and renting a family caravan lets you enjoy those moments without having to blow the budget and buy one for yourself. Our little family are excited for our next trip and we’d love to hear about your plans, so check the listing on Camplify or drop us a line at richard@ilovecairns.com.au
Loaded question. We had already towed a camper trailer before we bought this, so had towing experience. We think this is the same as towing the camper trailer, but with a little more weight. So how easy is it tow? ~ It’s pretty easy if you have towing experience. In fact, you need to have towing experience to hire this caravan – that’s for your safety and the safety of the caravan.
Yes. You will need to have a 4×4 or commercial truck. We have a Nissan Navara and can tow it no problem at all. If your towing vehicle does not have an Electronic Brake Controller installed, we can rent you a portable unit. Towing mirrors are mandatory and are provided. The caravan is equipped with a D035 towing coupling – we will provide the tongue to be fitted to your vehicle.
The tare weight is 2,340kg and gross trailer mass is 2,800kg. It’s 15 feet long.

We all love something different. Richard loves the king bed, he is 6ft 4inches tall and appreciates the space. Julie loves the bathroom and the clever layout, which makes the best use of indoor space. Ethan loves the bunks, so he can bring a mate, and the charging stations for those all important devices at the end of the day. We all love how quick and easy it is to set it up and the fact we can take our dog with us, is the best.
