Which is why they limit daily passenger numbers to 12 and have a 6 to 1, guest to marine biologist ratio. Please note that all of the ABC Snorkel Charters reef sites are in open water, waves and current is sometimes present. As such, you should be a confident swimmer with reasonable fitness. Flotation devices are available, if required.
ABC Snorkel Charters provides up to 3.5 hours at the reef, with unlimited snorkeling at 2 different reef sites. Where they go each day is determined by the tides, current and prevailing weather conditions. They will pick the best sites, to maximise your experience on the Great Barrier Reef on your day of travel. Their sites have healthy reef cover and are home to an abundance of marine life, including turtles, reef sharks, giant clams, anemonefish and more. All snorkelling equipment and instruction is included in the tour price, as is a marine biologist to provide guided snorkel tours all day. Water access is via the back deck and stairs, which are lowered into the water for your comfort and convenience.
ABC Snorkel Charters boat is moored at Marano’s Port Douglas, Port Street. If you are self-driving, there is plenty of free parking. Transfers can be arranged and are additional cost to the tour. Check-in and boarding is at the boat, from 7.45am for an 8am departure. Lunch is included. You should take a towel, sunglasses, hat, change of clothes and sunblock for the day, as well as cash or credit cards to make any beverage purchases. Tea, coffee and cold water is supplied and included.

ABC Snorkel Charters departs Port Douglas and commences its journey to the Great Barrier Reef. All safety and snorkel briefings are conducted on the way to the reef. They are a dedicated snorkel boat, so pick sites that provide snorkelers with the best access and experience on the reef. All snorkelling equipment is provided and included in the tour price. ABC Snorkel Charters is not suitable for non-swimmers. All of the sites they visit are open water sites. They do not have a glass bottom boat or semi submersible, so to ‘see’ the reef, you will need to get in the water and swim / snorkel. Flotation devices are available for your comfort. If you are non-swimmer looking for a Port Douglas reef tour, we suggest a pontoon or Low Isles day tour would be more suited to you.
